FAQs – VetsVan

Can any Veteran schedule rides?

No. The Veteran must be homebound or disabled with loss of independence to take other forms of transportation. They must call MOVE and complete an eligibility intake form over the phone to be registered with the VetsVan program.

What if I am not eligible? Can you still help me?

Yes. We do our best to refer clients to the different transportation programs available in Stanislaus County.

How do I schedule a ride?

Once you are eligible, contact the VetsVan Program Coordinator at 209-672-1143. It is best to call at least 1-2 weeks in advance.

Can I get a ride to any location?

No. Rides are provided only to medical appointments, primarily to VA providers. This includes VA Modesto, VA Stockton, VA Livermore, and VA Palo Alto facilities.

How much does it cost?

There is no charge for the rides.

How often are rides provided?

Rides are provided Monday through Friday when volunteers are available.

Who drives?

All VetsVan rides are provided by volunteer drivers.
